Eligibility: Owners who submit pets must be 18 years of age or over. Where the age of majority in a country in which a participant resides is more than 18 years of age, a participant must have reached the age of majority. Employees, officers and directors (including members of their immediate families) of WebFluff Limited are not eligible to win prizes.
Webfluff Limited will use the data supplied by entrants for the purposes of administering and publicising this competition and will not provide it to any third party for any other reason without the entrant’s permission.
Entry into the competition constitutes permission for Webfluff Limited to use the entrant’s pet’s, name, likeness and supplied character details for advertising and promotional purposes. Entry into the competition also constitutes permission for the pet's inclusion in a book celebrating charismatic pets (book’s creation is subject to financial viability and legal considerations), without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
The owners of five winning pets will receive a web site, comparable in size and quality to the example on www.webfluff.com/teddy.aspx and hosted on that site. The top three most charismatic pets will also receive an artyfluff oil painting of their winning pet. Prize winners will be notified once the competition has been judged, see below for competition closing time.
Competition winners, as part of their acceptance of their prizes, will supply more details to Webfluff Limited re: the winning pets, and more photos if required in order to enable the creation of the prizes.
Webfluff Limited will endeavour to deliver prizes within three months of winners being notified, but as these are creative endeavours and require time for ideas to gestate, Webfluff Limited cannot absolutely guarantee that delivery date.
The competition is designed to comply with UK competition law but laws may vary in other countries. Entrants should confirm, before entering, that they are legally allowed to do so and that the competition is legally valid in their place/country of residence. For reference, the competition is a competition (not a lottery, not a prize draw) because it involves an element of skill (in filling the entry, in creating words of wisdom, in taking suitable pictures of pets) and independent judging. In the UK we are not obliged to provide a no purchase necessary clause for such a competition. Competition rules are readily available on this site or by sending an suitably stamped self addressed envelope to webfluff Limited at the registered address (on the foot of each web page and included later in these rules, see below for more details).
Technology: Webfluff Limited rely on IT systems to run the competition. If for any reason these are not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Webfluff Limited which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the competition Webfluff Limited reserve the right at their discretion, to modify or alter the competition to enable it's successful completion given changed circumstances.
Only one pet is allowed per entry, but households are welcome to enter any number of pets in separate entries.
A short list of 25 possible winners will be selected by Webfluff Limited staff and will be made available to independent judge(s) connected professionally with the care of pets. The judge(s) will be asked to pick the winners (and five runners up in case winners do not accept their prizes or are disqualified) and their decision will be final.
Disclaimer. By entering the competition, participants release and hold harmless Webfluff limited, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the competition or any prize won.
In the event that the competition is challenged by any legal or regulatory authority, Webfluff Limited reserves the right to discontinue or modify the competition, or to disqualify participants residing in the affected geographic areas. In such event, Webfluff Limited shall have no liability to any entrants who are disqualified due to such an action. Webfluff Limited reserves the right to halt the competition at any time due to situations beyond its control such as strikes, acts of God, technical failures illness, etc.
Webfluff Limited reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions and/or the official rules for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the competition.
Intellectual property. The competition, websites (www.webfluff.com and www.artyfluff.com ), related images and text are copyright © of webfluff limited. Copying or unauthorised use of any copyrighted material or trademarks without the express written consent of its owner, except for purposes of publicising the competition, is strictly prohibited.
If any competition entrant engages in unfair, illegal, or improper conduct, webfluff limited reserves the right to exclude them from the competition.
Webfluff Limited will not be responsible or liable for: (a) any failure to receive entries due to transmission failures and other conditions beyond its reasonable control; (b) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled, distorted or damaged transmissions or entries (c) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet or other computer or communications related malfunctions or failures; (d) any contest disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of webfluff limited.
If a selected winner is unreachable or ineligible, or fails to claim the Prize, or refuses to provide sufficient details/images to enable the creation of the prize, said winner will forfeit his or her Prize and it will be awarded to one of the runners up or a substitute winner.
No materials sent to webfluff limited via post or electronically will be returned, so entrants should only send copies of animal pictures and keep copies of any text, if required.
Competition opens on 12th November 2006 and closes once we’ve got a decent sample of pets (1,000)
